We offer private tuition, one to one, in singing and acting and our students have the option to take LAMDA exams with us. LAMDA stands for “London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts” and they offer practical exams in a wide range of communication and performance skills.
We also offer LAMDA exams from entry level to grade 8 in Verse & Prose and Shakespeare. These can be taken as one to ones or in group classes. Verse & Prose is covered in the Friday Bitesize class and Shakespeare as an add on for Youth Theatre 1 in 2o24.
LAMDA exams and the preparation involved count towards your Duke of Edinburgh Award. You can even set yourself the goal of passing the exam at the end of it. Check with your DofE Leader before you start to ensure it meets the requirements for your chosen level.
Grades are decided on after your first session and each child is given the material and all resources needed to successfully complete the exam. The higher LAMDA grades comes with UCAS points. Each discipline is taught on different days so its a good idea to talk to us first before booking.
“Preparing for a LAMDA exam helps everyone develop the life skills that are so important for a happy, successful and fulfilled life… Once you have passed a LAMDA exam you will have earned a qualification that is recognised all over the world that you can use to add to your CV/resume or University application” (LAMDA website)
Students also perform their work to parents in a showcase each term.
