The Talent Shack, Unit 17 Freemans Parc, CF11 8EQ, is a 4000 square foot industrial unit in South Cardiff with good public transport links and free parking.  Thanks to The National Lottery People and Places Fund we have our own working theatre with a retractable seating unit for 74 as well as full lighting rig and PA system.  Everything your child needs to create theatre is under one roof.  Props store, costume room, rehearsal space and a stage along with a team of highly skilled, Industry professionals and trained teachers!  We also have a studio space round the corner, in 7b Freemans Parc. This is a 1100 square foot space dedicated to dance with double height mirrors, ballet barres and Le Mark flooring.

We run two timetables across our two venues, The Talent Shack focuses on acting, drama, singing and musical theatre. We teach LAMDA grades in Verse and Prose, Acting and Musical Theatre as one to ones; Youth Theatre; Musical Theatre productions. The Dance Shack offers classes in jazz, modern, ballet for children as well as an adult timetable of dance technique, dance fit and creative choreography.

Our spaces are available to hire, depending on availability, for community events, parties and rehearsals. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.

Scholarships and Bursaries

All our classes are eligible for reduced fees either in the form of Bursaries (free places) or Scholarships (reduced fees)

We have a fair and open application process which is means testers and has set financial criteria. We ask for confirmation of universal credit / DLA in the form of a letter.  You can also provide referrals from schools, social services or other organisations.

To apply just get in touch and ask for our scholarship and bursary pack. There is a form to fill out which you can do online or in person with one of the team.

The team will then review applications and decide who to move onto a second assessment based on criteria met and application strength.

There will then be a short interview in person or on the phone with both parent/guardian and child (if appropriate) followed by an optional audition if we feel that would be beneficial.
