Our adult acting group has been running since 2017 and in that time they have achieved so much!
The idea behind the group is to stage plays to broaden knowledge of plays and playwrights and teach acting technique in the process. Even though the end product is important it’s more about the acting and the actor than the production. We want to produce raw, vulnerable performances from actors who have a deeper understanding of text and how to interpret it and inhabit their character to serve the story.
Plays we have performed so far
Confusions by Alan Ayckbourn
Spring Awakening by Gary Owens
Days of Significance by Roy Williams
O Go My Man by Stella Feehily
The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe
At the start of 2020 we took a break from rehearsals and plays to focus on Masterclasses. We had some very interesting and diverse professionals to inspire and coach our group. We managed to get through 2 weeks of term before the Covid-19 lock down hit so everything’s being pause until we are back in the Shack.
The masterclass term still to come –
Devising with Ashley Cummings of Clock Tower Theatre, Accents with vocal coach Emma Stevens Johnson, Writing Monologues with writer / actor Keiron Self
Who knows when we can get back to our Masterclasses? Autumn 2020?? I hope so! If you’d like to join us have a look at our Adult Classes page.
